Marianne Lee Keys Profile Photo

Marianne Lee Keys was born on April 20, 1940 in Silverton, Oregon to Luis and Lorraine (Hitt) Harvey. She attended Silverton schools and would go on to graduate from Silverton High School.  Like many people of her generation she would often reflect on the trials and tribulations of getting to school during that time.  She would often ride her horse to school and would have to ford the Pudding River in order to get there. Growing up she would often help her father work on their farm. She married Curtis Ray Keys on July 31, 1957 in Jefferson, Oregon after he returned from Europe with the military. Together, they enjoyed hunting, canning fruits and veggies from their own garden. During her life Marianne lived throughout the Willamette Valley but moved to Mill City, Oregon in the 1980’s.  Soon after moving to Mill City she would open The Wagon Wheel and would run it for many years. Marianne had several activities she enjoyed like canning, and crocheting. She would crochet afghans and would give them as gifts to friends and family members.  She also loved watching sports and was always rooting for the Mariners, Seahawks and Trail Blazers.  She was never one to sit around and always enjoyed having something to do; always finding time to watch her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. On July 28, 2019, Marianne passed away in Mill City, Oregon at age 79. Marianne is joining her husband Curtis and two sons, Raymond and Richard along with her parents and siblings in heaven. She is survived by her daughters, Renee Seizemore, Ramona Rumplik, and Ruth Keys; grandchildren, Rosa, Ruthie, Marion, Amy, Crystal, Brian, Raymond, Desiree, Bobby, Carly Jo, Autumn; 15 great-grandchildren.
