Mark Alan Stuckart, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor, and friend, passed away on May 22, 2026, in Albany, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 13, 1953, in Salem, Mark was the son of Paul Michael Stuckart and Dolores Marie (Minden) Stuckart. He was raised in Sublimity, where he developed the strong work ethic, practical skills, and steady character that would define his life.

On September 15, 1973, Mark married the love of his life, Sherry Darlien (Aplet) Stuckart, at Immaculate Conception Church. Together they built a life rooted in love, hard work, family, and faith that endured for more than five decades.

Mark was a proud graduate of Regis High School, Class of 1971, and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Construction Management and a minor in Business Administration from Oregon State University in 1976. Throughout his life, he lived in Corvallis, Eugene, Albany, and Jefferson, carrying with him the values and community spirit of his hometown roots.

While in high school and college, Mark worked at L.A. Frank Custom Seed Cleaning and Stuckart Lumber Co. Following graduation, he built a respected career in construction and paving, serving as an estimator and project administrator, senior estimator, and assistant manager of sand and gravel for Wildish Companies. He later worked as chief estimator for Morse Brothers and Knife River. He finished his career as a construction manager for North Santiam Paving. Mark earned the admiration of coworkers and colleagues alike for his knowledge, reliability, and unwavering integrity.

Mark found purpose and joy in the simple, meaningful work of everyday life. He loved do-it-yourself home improvement projects and took pride in building, fixing, and creating with his own hands. His appreciation for birds was well known to family and friends, whether he was tending chickens and pigeons, building birdhouses, or welcoming the return of swallows each year. He carefully shaped his yard into a place where life could flourish season after season.

He was a mentor. Mark believed deeply in self-reliance and took every opportunity to teach his family how to care for their homes, solve problems, and work hard with patience and purpose. He was also generous with his knowledge, especially when helping others navigate taxes and financial matters, always willing to lend a steady and knowledgeable hand.

Mark also found joy in hunting trips with friends, time spent with family, and even long visits to the hardware store. He was known for his even temper, kindness, patience, and sharp sense of humor. Often seen with a toothpick in his mouth, a tape measure on his hip, and a witty remark at the ready, Mark was always willing to help others. He was the steady, dependable presence so many relied upon — the rock of his family. His strength was found not only in what he could build or repair, but in the quiet and dependable way he showed up for the people he loved.

Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Sherry; his children, Anthony “Tony” Stuckart and Kathryn “Kate” Donegan; his cherished grandchildren, Michael Stuckart, Trevor Stuckart, Noah Donegan, Delaney Donegan, Declan Bekkedahl, and Brienna Bekkedahl; and his siblings, Lucinda “Cindy” Lulay, Pamela “Pami” Bender, Karen House, Roger Stuckart, and Timothy “Tim” Stuckart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dolores Stuckart, and his brother, Randel “Randy” Stuckart.
