Marvin Dale Edwards

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale Edwards beloved brother, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and a friend who left this world peacefully on April 23 2026 at the age of 80. Dale passed away in the comfort of his home in Mulino, OR surrounded by his family.

Dale was born on July 25, 1945 in Lebanon, OR to Marvin and Ruth Edwards. He was predeceased by his parents, and also by a son, Adam. Marvin “ Dale” was survived by his lovely, wife of 56 years, Vance, son Chad( Deann) Edwards, and a sister Carol Edwards. The grand children are Chase Edwards, Addison Edwards Trey Edwards , (Maddy), and Ross Edwards ( Ashley), Chase Edwards, Karleigh and Brookland are his great grand daughters. Bonus Grandchildren Greg (Julie), Danielle (King) and 6 Great Grandchildren Karleigh, Brooklyn, Justice, Jeremiah, Austin and Baylee…He cherished them all

A proud graduate of Santiam High School in Mill City, Dale’s sense of duty and adventure led him to where he served his country with honor. Dale enlisted with the US Army and began his training at Fort Ord. In 1969 he received orders to go to Africa to be stationed in Ethiopia for 18 months. He enjoyed this assignment but needed to return to the USA. Eight days after Dale returned home he and Vance were married on Valentines ‘Day, and they stayed that way for 56 years.

Dale was a man of few words, yet his actions spoke volumes about his character. He was a contemplative soul who found peace and solace in the outdoor setting. It was a sanctuary, a sentiment he often expressed when asked about his spiritual beliefs.

Dale’s favorite things to do – fishing and hunting! When he was able to do either one, it was a good day. He never missed a season’s opening day and could be seen often hiking into the forest or fishing.

As we say goodbye to Dale we celebrate a life lived well and hold onto the memories. His was a good journey.
