Mary Lynn
Veck
Aug 2, 1946 — Oct 6, 2026
Mary Lynn Veck, 80, of Silverton, Oregon, passed away on October 6, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born on August 2, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, the only child of Marvin Bradford and Elizabeth Swann.
Mary Lynn grew up in Southern California and graduated from La Mirada High School with the Class of 1964. During High School, she danced with the Drill Team and was deeply involved in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, where she served as Worthy Advisor of Norwalk Assembly #210. In 1966–1967, she was chosen to represent the California Rainbow Girls to the Georgia Rainbow Girls, a fitting honor for a girl born in Atlanta. She traveled to Georgia and throughout California as an ambassador for the organization.
On February 14, 1970, she married Milton Frank Veck II in Palos Verdes, California. Together they raised two daughters, Kristin and Elizabeth in Westchester, California, and shared 53 years of marriage until Milton’s passing in 2023.
In 1968, Mary Lynn began a career with Western Airlines, continuing with Delta Air Lines after the two companies merged in 1987. She retired from Delta in 1999 after 30 years in the airline industry.
Her airline career fueled a lifelong love of travel, a passion she shared with Milt and passed on to Kristin and Elizabeth. Their family+ trips became some of their most treasured memories, and music was always along for the ride, just as it always filled their home. Mary Lynn especially loved cruises and long road trips across the country, where she tasted wine at local vineyards and explored the nation’s national parks. Outgoing and warm, she had a gift for connection and made friends wherever she went.
Her friendship with Debbie Musillami held a special place in her heart. The two were best friends for 50 years, and in 2000 they retired to Oregon together to start a new chapter side by side. Their friendship was one of the great joys of her life.
Mary Lynn is survived by her daughters, Kristin Veck and Elizabeth Veck. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton, and her parents, Marvin Bradford and Elizabeth Swann.
In keeping with her wishes, no service will be held.
