Peggie Jean Bursell age 78 passed away peacefully October 2nd, 2024. She was born in

Portland Oregon but spent most of her life in Albany. She loved nothing more than spending

time with her family and often traveled to spend time with her grandchildren and great

grandchildren. Aside from visiting family Peggie loved a day at the Oregon Coast for the view

and a bowl of chowder. Peggie was an avid Coca Cola memorabilia collector so much so that

she should have had a museum. She also loved to garden and always had the most beautiful

flowers around her home. She retired from Oregon State University after over 20 years of

service. Peggie participated in Charlie’s Closet Coats for Kids drive every year. She would

collect coats all year and make a donation every fall/winter to the Albany based charity.

Peggie was welcomed into heaven by her father Marion Martin Mekkers, mother Bette Jean

Curran (Wishart), stepfather Charles Curran and husband Timothy Bursell.

Peggie is survived by her children, Scott (Dawn) Peek, Ramona (Kurt) Muller, Todd Bentley, and

Rhonda (Dennis) Baumgartner; her grandchildren, Alyssa (Greg) Richter, Brittney Key, Cody

Key, Sierra Muller, Timothy (Theresa) Baumgartner, and Brandi Baumgartner; her great

grandchildren Carter and Cole Richter, Mason Garmer, Brennah, Brayden and Rowan

Baumgartner; her siblings, Jodi (Myrna) Mekkers, John (Om) Dunshee and Jim (Rosalee)

Dunshee. As well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of life will take placed at a later time per Peggie’s wishes.
