Randall Lee Snider

October 11, 1947 – December 21, 2025

Randall Lee Snider, a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong outdoorsman, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born on October 11, 1947, in Bend, Oregon, Randall developed an early love for baseball, sports and the outdoors that shaped much of his life. An avid skier, he was a state title winner in high school, excelling on the slopes of Central Oregon. Skiing remained a lifelong passion—one he lovingly passed on to his daughters. It was through this shared love of the mountains that Randall met the love of his life, Carol, at Mt. Bachelor, beginning a partnership that would endure for decades.

Randall answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in July 1966. He served honorably until December 1968, attaining the rank of Corporal (E-4). His military role as a Communication Center Man and Telegraph Officer reflected his reliability and precision. His training included Message Center operations at Camp Pendleton and Vietnamese language training in Hawaii.

In recognition of his service and sacrifice, Randall was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Rifle Expert Badge. He was honorably discharged due to 100% service-connected disability, a lasting testament to his dedication to duty.

For the past ten years, Randall made his home at the Oregon Veterans’ Home in Lebanon, where he was cared for with dignity and respect among fellow veterans. The family is deeply grateful for the compassion and support provided by the staff and community there.

Above all, Randall was a family man. He was the beloved husband of Carol Christofero-Snider, a devoted father to Heather Snider and Hattie (Snider) McDonnell, wife of Michael McDonnell, and a proud grandfather to Davis Lee McDonnell and Sloane Jai McDonnell, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Randall was preceded in death by his beloved mother and father, as well as his fearless youngest brother. He will be remembered for his loyalty, service, a great sense of humor and the love of his family.
