Rita Maxine Perkins

Rita Maxine Perkins passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on December 10, 1941, in Salem, Oregon, to Dora and Sherman Wall.
Rita graduated from Stayton High School in 1960. On June 8, 1963, she married Jim Perkins in Stayton, Oregon. Together, they raised four children and shared many years of life in the Stayton community.
Rita was a homemaker and later worked at Stayton Bi-Mart before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and traveling. She especially liked taking trips with her children and vacations and casino outings with her sister Joyce.
She is survived by her sister, Joyce; her children, Kathy Parsons, Rod Perkins, and Becky Perkins; and her grandchildren, Aaron Parsons, Thomas Parsons, Brian Walling, Cory Norris, Barry Walling, and Samantha Norris Basques.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; her sisters, Leona May McCollum and Geraldine Webster; and her daughter, Tammy Perkins-Norris.
Rita will be remembered for her love of family, her hobbies, and her steady presence in the lives of those who knew her.
