Roy Thomas Taylor, 79, passed away on October 15, 2022 in Stayton, Oregon.
Roy was born on July 7th, 1943 in Santa Paula, California to Thomas Jefferson (TJ) and Florencie Mae Taylor. He was the first of seven children. He developed a love for agriculture and the outdoors and lived many places including Missouri, Arkansas, California, and Oregon.
Roy married his love, Kathleen Marie (Cook) Taylor, at St. Gertrudes Catholic Church in Bell Gardens, California on February 16, 1963.
He worked in multiple industries and held positions as a machinist, pipe fitter, dock loader, dairy plant processing, and the University of Arkansas. His hobbies included cattle, agriculture, the outdoors, puzzles, reading, western movies, building things, and helping others learn to build and fix things themselves.
Roy had an undeniable love for his family and enjoyed attending church.
He was on the National Bowling team. As a devoted community member, he served as an Asst. Boy Scout leader, 4-H leader, along with Voluntary Homeland security & sheriff volunteer patrol with Shasta County.
Roy is preceded in death by his father, and two brothers: Don Taylor and Loye Taylor.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, siblings: Teresa, Robby, Sandy, and Randy, 4 children: Roy Thomas Taylor, Jr., Michael John Taylor, Robert Dwayne Taylor, and Mark David Taylor, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Foothills Church, Friday, October 21st, 2022 at 1:00 PM
