Russell Glen “Rusty” Davis, Sr., 64, passed away at his home in Ranier, Oregon, on October 2, 2026. Rusty was born on July 24, 1962, in Snowflake, Arizona, to John O. Davis and Edith A. Davis. He lived a life marked by adventure, hard work, laughter, and a deep appreciation for nature.

Rusty proudly served his country in the United States Navy from December 29, 1980, until his honorable discharge on March 8, 1983. Throughout his working life, he held a variety of roles, including working as a wildland firefighter and truck driver. He even had a brief brush with Hollywood as an extra in the movie Starman, which was filmed near his hometown of Winslow, Arizona. Rusty also spent time behind the microphone as a local DJ for KINO Radio.

Rusty married Amanda Cribbs-Davis in Las Vegas on October 18, 1998. His family brought him great joy, and he cherished the time they spent together.

Rusty loved nature and enjoyed hiking, fishing, and searching for rocks and fossils. Curious and resourceful, he could fix almost anything. He also loved cooking and sharing good food, stories, and laughter with those around him.

Those who knew Rusty will remember his vibrant, one-of-a-kind personality. His gift for making people laugh left a lasting impression wherever he went. His humor, adventurous spirit, and love of the outdoors will be deeply missed.

Rusty is survived by his wife, Amanda Cribbs-Davis; his children, Richard James “RJ” Davis, Dee Dee van Fredenberg (Merton), Susan Normandin, Cody Davis, Trevor Davis, and Russell Glen “Rusty” Davis, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Lexi, Lucas, Logan, Merton, Rowan, Tyson, Ivy, Winter, Isabella, and River.

He is also survived by his siblings, Phyllis Engels (Charlie), Johnathan Davis (Amy), Shirley Wyatt (Keith), Patricia Brown (Richard), Robin Davis (Christina), Benjamin Davis, Debra Shaw (William), and Michael Davis (Luciane).

He was preceded in death by his parents, John O. Davis and Edith A. Davis.

In honor of Rusty’s lifelong love of nature, the Cascadian wilderness will be his final resting place, a fitting tribute to a man who found such joy and wonder in the outdoors.

Details for a celebration of Rusty’s life will be shared at a later time.
