" Scott Cathcart, a beloved husband, a cherished father and brother, an adored grandfather and great-grandfather and a trusted friend, passed away February 14th in Jefferson at the age of 72, leaving behind such memories of love, laughter, and generosity.
Born on August 4th, 1953, in Palo Alto California at Stanford University Hospital, Scott was the son of Martha Joann Drake and Channing Warren Cathcart.
Scott was so lucky to find the woman who became the love of his life, Jennifer Grosser, at the early age of twenty. After fifteen years spent falling in love, Scott married Jennifer on October 30th 1992.
Scott had so many different career ventures, from truck driving, property manager, learning to toss fresh pizza dough in the air, decorating the finest cakes, and delivering important medical supplies to those in need. He was truly a "jack of all trades". He always enjoyed driving, seeing new sceneries and being the best social butterfly.
Scott was always known as someone who knew a little bit about everything. His family always said if any of them ended up on "Who wants to be a millionaire" and got to phone a friend, they would be calling him, no doubt.
Scott always loved camping with his wife and grandchildren, tending to his roses and beautiful yard and rooting for the Green Bay Packers! He was the biggest family dog lover, always throwing the ball and giving lots of cuddles. And you would never get a better wrapped present than from Scott along with his family, expecting those three balloons he always drew inside the birthday cards.
Scott cherished family above all else and one of his favorite things was having his family all together and sitting back while watching everyone having a great time.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother, Allan Cathcart. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; his children: Shannon, David and Amanda; brothers: Craig and Doug; and his most cherished 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was always so involved in their lives, attending all sports games, school events, birthday parties and any celebration.
Scott's life was one of quiet devotion; to his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and to the small joys that made each day meaningful. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts of those who knew him.
There will be an open viewing for Scott Cathcart at Weddle Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21st, from 2:30 - 5:30 for all who wish to come show support for Scott's family and say their goodbyes to our dear friend and loved one. "
