Sharon Lee (Bertram) Martin, 70, passed away April 1, 2026, after battling cancer.

Sharon was born July 31, 1955, in Prineville, Oregon, the daughter of Verna Mae (Edwards) and James Bertram.

The family moved to Gilchrist so that she could start 1st Grade at Gilchrist Elementary School. Sharon’s father worked for Gilchrist Timber Company. Sharon attended all 12 years of school at Gilchrist, graduating in 1973. She attended Central Oregon Community College (COCC) in Bend for one year and made a special life-long friend with one of her quad mates, Marc Oppenheim.

Sharon met her husband of 49 years, David Martin. Days after their wedding in Bend, they moved to Silverton and later Salem, eventually locating in Lyons, Oregon, in 2003.

Sharon held various positions in accounting and bookkeeping, retiring from the State of Oregon after serving in Procurement and Contracts.

Sharon made friends with most people she met and left behind many dear ones. Sharon loved working in her yard and garden. She also loved camping at the family’s favorite spot at Crescent Lake as well as the Oregon Coast. In her retirement, she also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and doing machine embroidery.

Sharon is survived by her husband David Martin of Lyons; a sister Sandra Braden of Silverton, Oregon; a brother Michael Bertram of Reno, Nevada. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews as well as great-great- nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is planned for April 25 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 1410 Pine Street, Silverton, Oregon in the Parish Basement. All who knew and loved Sharon are welcome to join the family in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests everyone purchase their own plant, shrub, tree or bouquet as a tribute to Sharon.
