Sharon Irene Hunter, age 83, of Tangent, Oregon peacefully passed away on Friday, March 8th, 2024 at The Chestnut House.

Sharon was born on March 25th, 1940 in Gooding, Idaho. She was the daughter of Herb and Ileta (Buchanan) Brown whom she loved dearly, and sister to Carolyn (Sidney) Edwards, Don (Kay) Brown, Ronnie Brown, Marilyn (Norman) Edwards, Larry (Jackie) Brown, Betsy (Chuck) Story, and Connie (Murray) Mull.

Sharon was the beloved wife of the late Bobbie Lee Hunter, married August 24th, 1957, until his passing in 2010. Together they shared four daughters; Belinda (Garth) Rylands, Tammie (Gene) Anderson, Betty Hunter and Robin (Bob) Snazuk, 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Sharon loved her family, and while her children were young she did well at balancing homemaking and working outside the home to help make ends meet. The pantry shelves were always well stocked with home-canned goods and she was an admired seamstress who always kept her daughters in style. Her jobs outside the home included millwork and retail. At 50 years old she became a licensed realtor, and in her retirement years she took a floral arranging class which she enjoyed immensely.

Sharon loved snow-birding in Arizona, golfing, snow-skiing, fishing, vacations, canning, trying out new recipes, and making memories with her family.

She was preceded in death by her brother Ronnie Brown, her parents Herb and Ileta Brown, her husband Bobbie Lee Hunter, daughter Betty Hunter, sister Carolyn Edwards, and brothers Larry and Don Brown.

During her last year and a half of her life, Sharon became a favorite at the adult foster home (The Chestnut House) where she lived. Her quick wit, humor, and imagination brought laughter and lifted the clouds that aging and disease can often bring about.

At the close of Sharon's 83 years, her soul was peacefully gathered into the hands of God's angels and they delivered her to the gates of heaven where she was received by her Savior, Jesus Christ, forever to be with the LORD.
