Sheila Truitt

Sheila Truitt, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at the age of 78.

Sheila was born on July 21, 1946, to Vernon and Violette Truitt. Raised in a large and loving family, Sheila was preceded in death by her siblings: Sonny Truitt, Jerry Truitt Sr., Veronica Truitt Meztez, Darrell Truitt, David Truitt, and Terese Truitt.

Throughout her life, Sheila called many places home, including Salem, Jefferson, Marion, and Corvallis. A true jack of all trades, she held a variety of jobs over the years, always approaching her work with a curious mind and a strong spirit. Her favorite job, however, was the one that brought her the greatest joy—being a grandmother.

Sheila shared many cherished years with her long-time partner, Timothy Walden, who also preceded her in death. She leaves behind her devoted children, Dale Stocking Jr. and Brenda Zastoupil; her beloved grandchildren, Kerri Harmon, Tyler Zastoupil, Jonathen Stocking, Brandon Stocking and David Stocking. Her treasured great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Harmon, Joshua Stocking, Amora Stocking, Layla Stocking, Nathan Stocking and Kaileah Stocking.

In her younger years, Sheila had a passion for horseback riding and a deep love for the outdoors. She had a knack for finding hidden treasures at yard sales and thrift shops, and she was endlessly fascinated by how things worked—often taking things apart just to put them back together again.

Sheila will be remembered for her tenacity, her curiosity, and her deep love for her family. Her laughter, wisdom, and warmth will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
