Susan Arnold

Susan Alicia Arnold, born January 27, 1960, in California and later residing in Oregon, passed away after losing her battle with chronic illness. She was the beloved daughter of Mace Arnold and Vallory Freeman, and she was preceded in death by her mother, father, older brother John Freeman, and her husband, Dean Schuchard, a Vietnam veteran.

Alicia leaves behind six children: Carly, Grace, July, Hannah, and Vallory “Babet, and one Son;” six grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers. She always wanted a large family to love, and she was blessed with exactly that. Alicia loved her children deeply and was a dedicated mother and wife.

She will be remembered for her strong Christian faith, her love for Jesus, her sense of humor and sarcasm, and her willingness to fight through every hardship life placed before her. Alicia fell in love with Portland, Oregon. Her final wish is for her ashes to be scattered atop Mt. Hood, the mountain she loved dearly. As we gaze upon the mountain range beyond Portland, my hope is that we will always remember her. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in Psalm 23 and in the promise that this is not goodbye, but see you later.
