Susan Annette Davenhill, lovingly known as "Mama Sue," passed away on May 12, 2025, in Salem, Oregon. She was born on September 22, 1948, in Medford, Oregon, to Mae and Chester Keene. She grew up with her siblings, Sharon Honey and David Keene, forming lifelong bonds that remained strong throughout her life.
On September 15, 1973, Sue married Timothy Davenhill in Phoenix, Oregon, and together they built a life rooted in love and faith. They welcomed two children, Elissa A. Johnson and Timothy "Tim" W. Davenhill, whom Sue cherished deeply.
Sue dedicated her career to her love for children, serving as a school principal who guided and nurtured countless young lives. She was known for her kindness, unwavering faith, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Her generosity was evident in the way she placed the needs of others before her own, and her legacy is one of love, service, and devotion.
Beyond her role in education, Sue was beloved for her incredible baking, a talent that brought joy to family and friends. She found strength in her faith, which guided her throughout her life, and she remained a pillar of love and wisdom within her family and community.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy; her siblings, Sharon and David; her children, Elissa and Tim; and her grandchildren, Trey Davenhill, John Pounds, and Harmoney Zelinka. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Mae and Chester, and her niece, Andrea Honey.
Sue will be remembered for the love she shared, the lives she impacted, and the unwavering kindness that made her truly special.
