Virgil LeRoy Potts, 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. Roy was a man for all seasons. He was always true to himself and his beliefs and remained steadfast to his devotion to his family. Roy was born in Cambridge, OH on April 25, 1941 to Edith Eileen and Virgil Lee Potts. On July 10, 1966, Roy married Carol Jean Wright. They were married at Ninth Street Methodist church in Cambridge, OH. In 1969, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Trina. In 1972, they welcomed their second daughter, Tania. In 1976, the family moved to Florida. In 1979, they moved to Oregon where Roy started his own business, Roy’s Upholstering, that he successfully ran for over 30 years. He retired in 2013, at the age of 72, to quietly care for his wife. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; both of his parents, Edith and Virgil; and his brother, Vernon.  He is survived by his sister, Kathy; brothers, Paul, Tim, and David of Ohio; daughter, Trina (Darby); grandson, Dalton; granddaughter, Kyra of Aumsville, daughter, Tania; granddaughter, Olivia of Salem; and granddaughter, Alexa of Aumsville. Roy’s hobbies and interests included motorcycle riding, car enthusiast, coin collecting, gold dredging, pool playing, and fishing. His favorite pastimes were time spent with his four grandchildren. He was a jokester, and according to his grandson, Dalton, “He was the best friend I’ve ever had.” He will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Our Savior’s Church on Sunday, April 28th 2019 at 3:00 PM.
