Kathryn Smith passed away on December 13, 2018 at age 75 in Albany, Oregon. She was born on October 12, 1943 in Myrtle Point, Oregon to Woodrow and Ruth Crook. Myrtle Point is where she grew up during her youth and as a young teen her family moved to Brooks, Oregon. This is where she would meet and marry her husband Billey Eugene Smith, they were married in 1959. Kathryn was a kind and loving wife and mother. She worked as a cook for most of her career at such restaurants as, “Snookers”and “CD&J’s” in Philomath and the “Tom Tom” off of I-5 in Albany. She lived in Washington for some time and owned a Deli, a small café, and a pizza parlor. Kathryn and her husband Bill lived in the small community of Eddyville, Oregon where she raised five of her grandchildren, four of them after they lost their own mothers. She enjoyed going to play Bingo at the casino in Lincoln City. She made wonderful pies and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathryn loved her family very much and would host family reunions at her home until her health no longer allowed her to do so. Most recently she was living in Albany, Oregon, where she enjoyed quality time with those she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billey; two daughters, Linda and Laura; and two grandchildren, Michael and Brandi. She is survived by her children Lonnie, Lisa, and Leonard; in addition to 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Woodrow “Sonny” Crook Jr. and a sister, Phyllis Rowley.
